For the past year, The Journey has partnered with the LUO organization to support two rescue homes in Managua, Nicaragua. As a part of this partnership we took two teams of individuals to meet and work with the children who call La Chureca (the Managua city dump) home.
If you'd like to get more involved, you can start by sponsoring a child. It only takes $200 to give a child the food and neccessities they need for one whole year. And, if you donate soon, you'll get a hand-painted canvas from one of the children in Managua to hang in your home. You will also have the opportunity to meet the child you're sponsoring when we organize more trips to Nicaragua during 2010. We have schdeuled two trips to Managua, Nicaragua: March 12 - 18 andMay 21 - 27. The deadlines for being part of these trips have already passed. During these trips, we’ll be working with the children in the rescue homes as well as children in the La Chureca dump.
