Matt Johnson is the founding and lead pastor of The Journey Church and is known for his relevant, conversational Bible teaching. Matt and his wife, Jennifer, are driven by a passion to create a church that unchurched people love to attend.

As The Journey has grown, their focus has remained on creating environments where people connect with their Heavenly Father and grow to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Matt spends most of his time helping people embrace this vision, teaching, developing systems, and investing in leaders.

Robert and his wife Pat have a passion for seeing children and youth (as well as adults) become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Having served as pastor at four different churches over the span of 30 years, they realize that the greatest opportunity for life change occurs before the age of twenty one. That’s why they are committed to creating environments where children and youth can connect with God in a relevant, meaningful way. 

Robert and Pat have three children, Matt (his wife Jen); Christa (her husband Shane); and Josh.  They have three grandchildren; Colby, Laken and Maddox. 

Robert currently oversees the Family Ministry Team (WaumbaLand, UpStreet and KidStuf) and Strategic Systems (LifeTeams, Volunteers, Special Events, Guest Services and Missions).

Jordon moved to Murray, KY, in 2004 to attend Murray State University, where he graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an Area in Finance. While attending MSU, Jordon along with his girlfriend (and now wife) Lauren, struggled finding a church they could call home. When the opportunity was presented to them to help start The Journey in 2005, they both jumped at the chance to help create a relevant environment where people of all ages and backgrounds could become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Before joining The Journey Staff, Jordon served on the leadership team, played in the band, volunteered on road crew, and helped in the process of creating relevant and unique worship experiences. Jordon is very passionate about what is experienced on Sunday morning and currently oversees Service Programming and Administration.

Drew moved to Murray, KY, in 2004 to attend Murray State University where he graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Secondary Education. Before joining The Journey Staff, Drew led video/film productions at The Journey, volunteered on road crew, and served on the leadership team.

As Director of Student Ministries, Drew is passionate and energetic about reaching the next generation for Christ. He is driven to create relevant and engaging environments for middle and high school students in our community and to build memorable events and relationships between youth and adults that encourage students to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
