To create relevant environments where people become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

In the spring of 2004, Matt Johnson took two friends out to dinner and asked them to help him create a place in Murray that unchurched people would love to attend. They were convinced God was calling them to start a different kind of church – one that would focus on creating relevant environments where people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
So after gathering a launch team of eight individuals, The Journey Church met for the first time on September 11, 2005, at the Curris Center on the campus of Murray State University. There were 128 people at that first service.
Since then hundreds of lives have been changed. While we celebrate all that God has done, we also eagerly look forward to what He will still do and we’re honored to partner with Him to help people connect with their Heavenly Father. |
